CCRSoftware and QuickBooks 2012
QuickBooks 2012 is starting to trickle out, and the big question for CCRQInvoice and CCRQBOM users is “will my programs be compatible with QuickBooks 2012?”
There are a lot of improvements in the US version of QuickBooks 2012 for Windows, some of which are VERY interesting. To see a discussion of the new features, go to http://www.sleeter.com/blog/2011/09/quickbooks-2012-overview/
So, here’s the scoop – essentially, there is no change in compatibility with Quickbooks 2012. If you can run your product with QuickBooks 2011, you will still be able to run with QuickBooks 2012 if it is set up the same way.
- QuickBooks Pro 2012: CCRQInvoice is 100% compatible. CCRQBOM doesn’t work with Pro because Pro doesn’t have inventory assembly items.
- QuickBooks Premier and Quickbooks Accountant 2012: CCRQInvoice and CCRQBOM are 100% compatible.
- QuickBooks Enterprise v12 if you are NOT USING Advanced Inventory: CCRQInvoice and CCRQBOM are 100% compatible.
- QuickBooks Enterprise v12 if you ARE using Advanced Inventory: Explained in more detail below.
QuickBooks Enterprise with Advanced Inventory
The Advanced Inventory feature in Enterprise is available for an extra fee. Introduced in 2011, it included site or warehouse information. In 2012 they have added options for FIFO inventory, Serial Tracking and Lot Tracking.
In general, if you use the site/warehouse feature, you will have some problems with CCRSoftware products (I’ll detail that below). If you use FIFO, serial tracking or lot tracking, you SHOULDN’T have a problem. We’ve done preliminary testing, it all seems to work, but these are very, very new features so we are continuing to test.
CCRQInvoice: With sites you cannot easily sort invoices or sales orders. You can get totals and do calculations, but not sort if you are printing in QuickBooks. You can sort if you set the parameters to not write the order back to QuickBooks and you print from QuickBooks.
CCRQBOM: With sites you cannot issue builds. You can use it to print a BOM, print requirements reports, print a where used report, and update the cost field. Just not build.
Looking Forward
We are working on a number of improvements for CCRQInvoice and CCRQBOM. We hope to also add compatibility with the Site feature of Advanced Inventory, but that can’t be guaranteed at this point. Now’s the time to leave a comment about what you would like to see added to CCRQInvoice and CCRQBOM !

We are starting up a company and have purchased QB 2012 Premier Manufacturing and Wholesale. The invoicing does not have some features that we need. EX: We sell by a case quantity, with different unit counts in a case. The price to the customer is by unit, not per case. The QB conversion is not working as it wants to change the quantity to correctly get the per unit price. We do not want the quantity changed.
As I understand your product we could make this calculation on your invoice.
ie:
Qty 5 (with ie:15 units per qty)
Our customer want to see qty of 5,
units of 75 (5 X 15),
and price per unit (ie: $2.00)with the extended price of $150.00 for this line item.
Is this something your software can accomplish?
Melanie, we need to discuss some details of this further, but most likely our CCRQInvoice product will help you. It may require a copy of our next release, which is being field tested now. Contact our sales department at sales@ccrsoftware.com to discuss details.
