CCRQInvoice Update – version 3.1

| July 14, 2008 | 1 Comment

It’s Here! CCRQInvoice Version 3.1 is available through our download web page. If you are a registered user of the product you can upgrade to this version for no additional fee.

We’ve talked about the new features in prior postings, so I won’t repeat that here. I do, however, want to point out a few things about the upgrade process. Some of these might sound like picky details, but some of our testing sites were confused by them…

  • Prior to installing the new program please check the version that you have now. If it is version 3.0.0.1, please uninstall this version before you install the new version. If you have a later version number (this would only be the test sites) then you don’t have to do this, the new program will handle it for you.
  • Please install the new program to the same program folder as the prior one. Most likely this is the default folder that the installation program recommends. Your serial number/registration information is set up in that folder, so if you install to a different folder the new program will act like it is an expired trial version. If this happens and you don’t remember what your registration number is, contact our support department right away and we will forward the information to you.
  • After installation you should check your preferences in CCRQInvoice. The most important preferences to check are the include options.

  • If you install this program in a different folder than before you may find that QuickBooks asks you to validate that this application has permission to access your data. Sometimes QuickBooks is picky about the location of the program that has permission, and will treat the new program as one that it doesn’t know about. This is the same process that you had to go through the first time you installed CCRQInvoice.
  • If you select the default values in the installation program then CCRQInvoice will be found in the CCRSoftware folder in your Start menu, rather than in Computer Consulting Resources.

Print Forms

One of the new features in CCRQInvoice 3.1 is the ability to print your orders directly from CCRQInvoice. Not only does this save you the hassle of going back to QuickBooks to print your orders, it provides you with a variety of features that you don’t get from QuickBooks, such as:

  • The ability to have a different footer for the last page of a multi-page order (so the “total” box shows only on the last page, for example).
  • You can print any of the information in a bar code format (this isn’t documented very clearly, we are going to expand on that later).
  • It is possible to sort your orders by customer (and other fields) if you are processing a batch at a time. In fact, you can use this to print your orders in a sorted fashion even if you don’t use any of the CCRQInvoice processing options.

We offer a customization service where we will customize the template for you, so you don’t have to learn how to do it yourself. Contact our sales department for details.
