CCRQInvoice: Cannot find the record…

| September 13, 2010 | 0 Comments

QuickBooks provides some fields in orders that are called the “Other” fields (either in the order header or as columns). We generally recommend that you do not use these fields in your QuickBooks templates due to limitations in QuickBooks. In addition, if you are using QuickBooks 2010 or Enterprise 10 there is a bug in QuickBooks that can cause problems for addon programs like CCRQInvoice.

In those versions of QuickBooks, if you include the “Other” fields in your template, they are sent out to add-on programs as if they were “custom fields” – but they aren’t. They have to be treated in a different way. When you try to update an order with CCRQInvoice you will see an error similar to the following:

This order had three lines, one error is generated for each detail line because the order used the “Other 1” fields as a column.

If you run into this problem please contact our support department, we have a patch that can be provided to you that works around the problem. Please tell us what version/edition of QuickBooks you are using, and if you are using QuickBooks to print your orders.
