We are working with the information that QuickBooks manages, we don't store our own information. Intuit has not provided a feature to store information in a BOM, like "custom fields" in invoices perhaps. Some day in the future we'll get to a point where we can do that, as we'll start storing additional information outside of QuickBooks, but I don't have a release date for anything like that.
