CCRQInvoice Sorting Problems: Updates

Some installations that are using the CCRQInvoice sorting feature have reported some problems. If you have run into any of these problems we may have an update for you that will resolve the issue.

Custom Fields in Enterprise 10

As I mentioned in an earlier note, when Intuit added features to the custom fields feature of Enterprise 10 then unfortunately did not make these features accessible to third-party programmers. Although Intuit extended the number of custom fields in the program, they are hidden from view in the programming interface. This creates several problems, and some users of CCRQInvoice are seeing cryptic error messages.

Alternating Color Bands for CCRQInvoice Orders

One element that can make a printed invoice easier to read is to print every other detail line with a different background color or shade, so that it is easy to distinguish between the detail lines. This feature can be added very easily to CCRQInvoice form templates, as we will show you in this article.

Adding Line Numbers to Reports

Recently several of our customers have asked if there is a way to add line numbers to their reports. This posting will briefly describe how to accomplish this in both CCRQInvoice and CCRQBOM. We assume that you are familiar with the basics of editing a report.

Adding Calculated Fields to Order Forms

If you have a current copy of CCRQInvoice you can add calculated fields to the form. Today I’ll give a brief demonstration on how to create fields that involve simple calculations based on other fields. In my example, I want to add a “deposit” statement that tells my client that they need to provide a 50% deposit on the order.

Adding Your Logo in CCRQInvoice

You can print your invoices, sales orders and estimates with CCRQInvoice . We provide a form editor that lets you design your own form. Here is a quick article on how to add your company logo to a custom invoice form.

Adding Contract Pages to QuickBooks Invoices with CCRQInvoice

QuickBooks has a page oriented form editor that you use to create your “templates” for invoices, sales orders and estimates. This approach places some limits on how you can design your form. This article talks about how you can use CCRQInvoice to add a contract page to the end of your order form.

Printing QuickBooks Invoices with CCRQInvoice

While most people start using CCRQInvoice to sort orders or add totals of some sort, you can also use it to print invoices, sales orders and estimates from QuickBooks.  Our printing system provides a number of features that you don’t find in QuickBooks that can be very useful.

CCRQInvoice and Windows Vista

If you are using version 3.2.0 through 3.3.1 of CCRQInvoice you may have difficulty in running the program on a computer running Windows Vista if you log in with more than one user account. The first user account will work correctly, but when you try to run from a second user account from the same computer you will get a Windows error saying that the program could not run. This is due to a security protection feature in Windows Vista.

Version 3.3.1.1 resolves this problem – you can download it from our web site now. Please install it to the same program folder as you used before. The installation program will first uninstall the older program, and then will install the newer program. No further changes are needed.

Please note that if you have version 3.0.1.0 or older you must first uninstall the original program using your Windows Control Panel first, before installing the new program.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask, either in comments here or by emailing our technical support department.

CCRQInvoice Update: Version 3.3.1

We have released version 3.3.1 of CCRQInvoice to our web site. If you are a registered user of the product you can upgrade to this version for no additional fee.  Please install this to the same program folder that you used for your earlier release.

One of the new features is an improved method of using Custom Fields in the CCRQInvoice form editor. In prior releases you had to guess which QuickBooks custom field mapped to a particular custom field name in CCRQInvoice. With this release we have added a “mapping” feature to make things easier. Please see our Custom Fields tutorial video for details on how to use this feature.
